A very special morning was had this morning with so many families coming along to enjoy a hearty breakfast before school. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make it such a special morning. See our photos below

RUOK DAY

On Friday 9th of September we will be celebrating R U OK? Day. Junior School Council will be doing a gold coin fundraising event and students are asked to wear yellow. Money raised will go towards school improvements. R U OK? Day raises awareness of asking your friends if they R OK and lending an ear to those who need it. MICHELLE CONLEY

DREAM BIG STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES 16th September

We still have a lot of families who have not yet booked in to come in to see their child's special presentation for our Dream Big conferences. Your child has put in a lot of work to put together a presentation for you to see their work, and their classroom and to show you how much effort they put into their learning. Please email eron.chapman@education.vic.gov.au if you need your login to Compass so you can book a time that suits you. Reminder- it is a student-free day on the day and you will come in with your child at the time you book. We will have a variety of fun activities you can do before or after your conference and we will have a BBQ going and also a cake stall to get something sweet to enjoy. We are really hoping to get as many families in to see their child's wonderful efforts as we can to really celebrate all the great things that are going on in our classrooms!

PARENT/CARER OPINION SURVEY REMINDER

All families were emailed a link to complete the survey. Please check your email. If you didn't get the link please email eron.chapman@education.vic.gov.au and we will send it to you.

PREP 2023 ENROLMENTS

We are processing Prep enrollments for 2023. If you have enrollment forms at home please bring them in when you can. If you have siblings of children already at Gowrie St you are yet to enrol, please come into the office and grab an enrolment pack.

We have an exciting transition program coming up so stay tuned!

UNIFORM POLICY

This week we sent home a copy of our updated uniform policy summary. You can see the full policy on our website or see the summary here.

GOULBURN VALLEY WATER PUZZLE COMPETITION

Students have been working hard at designing and creating their own Jigsaw Puzzles for a competition run by Goulburn Valley Water. Students were given the challenge to design the front cover of a book with the theme 'Our Water Stories'. On Tuesday judges came to our school to view students' work and they selected Papa, Zainab, and Tremaine as the winners of the competition. Congratulations to all students on all your hard work, the puzzles look amazing. JACK MCCORMICK

SCHOOL COMMUNICATION

Here at Gowrie St we try very hard to make sure all our communications get to families. We send home notes about important events, we also put these events here in our newsletter and also on our Facebook page and for very important things we send SMS reminders via Compass. We are just not able to call individual families for each whole school communication we need to get out. Please ask your child if they have notes in the bags- we all know what can lie in the bottom of a school bag! Also, make sure that the email address and mobile number we have for you is current. If you need to update any of your details you can call Jo at the office and she can do that for you in a flash. That way you will never miss any of the communications we send out.
