REMINDERS

Monday 15th APRIL First day TERM 2

It is hard to believe that we have already finished Term 1. Time goes by so quickly in a school, with so much going on all the time. It is great to have a bit of time to slow down and reflect on all the really wonderful things that happen. Our students and teachers have taken time and care and effort to settle their new classes for 2024 making it a really good start to the year.

Some key highlights have been:

  • Grade 5/6 Outdoor School camp which many students said was the best camp they had been on

  • Leadership camp to Beloka Kelpie Stud and Working Dog Training. This is the first year we have done this and what a great opportunity for our students.

  • Our Scoot To School program which has found its way to the Minister! Win News did a story on it, with comment from the State Minister of Education which you can check out HERE if you haven't already.

  • Our hugely successful Lunch Program, which has seen so many delicious lunches served and eaten! We are seeing students more willing to try new things and also many favourites already being named. Watch out next term for your invitation to come and join your child's class for lunch. Many thanks to our wonderful volunteers who help out each week Tania

  • We have begun works on our new vegetable gardens which will support both our lunch program. We will be calling for volunteers next term to help out in our garden. Work will also begin on our hall over the holidays in a long overdue facelift.

  • Celebration Days including Harmony Day saw students dressing up, doing fun and engaging activities

  • Botanic Gardens Melbourne excursion for the Grade 3-4s

  • Our grades 3 and 5 students showed huge determination in completing this years Naplan tests

  • This week our 3-6 students ( and some teachers) had skate-boading session where so many were able to achieve so much success through perseverance and trying. Many students, along with Ms Chapman, wished we could have more of these sessions.

  • Our incredible Easter Raffle with much thanks to Liz Sheppard and our PCC for the hours of work that went into it. Congratulations to our winners!

  • We are excited to announce our new School Council and School Council President. Welcome to Leanne Jones our new President, Rachel Rigbye vice president, Antonia O'Sullivan and, Tanya Buckley and Sarah Skinner and welcome back to Ane Fotu and Jill Richardson, Mel Brodie and Liz Sheppard our community members

With the arrival of the holidays, we encourage everyone to take a well-deserved break and recharge. Whether you're planning an adventurous getaway or simply enjoying some quality time at home, we hope these two weeks are filled with relaxation, laughter, and cherished memories.

Please remember to stay safe, stay connected, and most importantly, stay kind. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you all back refreshed and rejuvenated for the start of Term Two.

Wishing you a Happy Easter, Eid Mubarak and a wonderful school holiday!
